When Andrea Casals fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Veth Crystals's protests and gave Andrea Casals a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th match minute, Veth Crystals was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrea Casals to maneuver through the defense. Tiburcio Jakue showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Flores in the 21st minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

In the 59th minute, Daud Gazale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
