The audience thought a goal was coming when Pacho Carabajal got free with Grant Blacknell in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mike Wadham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brugge United's Aldo Candal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şükür Hagi in the 17th minute of play. In the 17th minute Şükür Hagi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Candal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tod Freeman in the 19th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Aldo Candal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th match minute, Leicester Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Wadham to maneuver through the defense. After 23 minutes of play, Leicester Lions's Şükür Hagi made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aldo Candal was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 25th minute, Luke Deveraux hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Grant Blacknell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raoul Lambert in the 26th minute. With 28 minutes on the clock, Luke Deveraux commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Luke Deveraux kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Brugge United's Mark Wauters broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. One of Leicester Lions:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Brugge United:s goal. In the 37th minute, Brugge United got a penalty, and Pacho Carabajal placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Aldo Candal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tod Freeman in the 40th minute of the match. Grant Blacknell made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Raoul Lambert sent off a good shot on target.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pacho Carabajal made a kick off. In the 57th minute, Georges-Philippe Engels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aldo Candal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camron Rhodes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leicester Lions's Grant Blacknell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zac Bal in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute Brugge United were awarded a corner. Mark Wauters went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Leicester Lions's goalie and right to Pacho Carabajal. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Leicester Lions's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Grant Blacknell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pacho Carabajal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Camron Rhodes sped through Brugge United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aldo Candal. Leicester Lions made a substitution. John Peacock replaced Jack Sharp. Mike Wadham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Aldo Candal made a huge save. After 82 minutes Brugge United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Michal Budzyn who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Leicester Lions's Michal Budzyn to fire away a dangerous shot which Aldo Candal despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 84th minute, Mike Wadham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brugge United's Aldo Candal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Brugge United from getting a goal against them. When Tod Freeman came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Leicester Lions fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tod Freeman couldn't finish the play. Tod Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Candal having to interfere.
