The audience thought a goal was coming when Gong Bin Ting got free with Cyprian Podolski in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patanapong Xintarianos in the 25th minute of play forced SS SuperSonics's goalkeeper Cyprian Podolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cyprian Podolski was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Liu Yang Cheng showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play.
