Clemente Rodriguez didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, La Candela FC's Emanuel Laurin got control of the ball when Ted Borker tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ágætis Byrjun's zone, Gabi Batistuta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maraman Reitsma came out of the goal and Gabi Batistuta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gabi Batistuta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maraman Reitsma read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After 16 played minutes La Candela FC got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Rodriguez. Teodosio Frans hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ted Borker got free with Emanuel Laurin in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the La Candela FC defense, Ted Borker kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emanuel Laurin. The La Candela FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emanuel Laurin should have stopped the shot. Maraman Reitsma didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when La Candela FC's Gabi Batistuta shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. 29 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goal looked a bit too open when Gabi Batistuta came free, but Maraman Reitsma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuel Laurin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Borker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frits Steen charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A collision led to La Candela FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Rodolfo Arruabarrena hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, La Candela FC's Claudio Marangoni got a free kick in the 42nd minute. A hard shot by Robert Folkers from long distance, 43 minutes into the match, got Emanuel Laurin's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

La Candela FC's Ademar Castro was substituted for Teodosio Frans. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laurens Erenstein was the one to do the kick off. Gabi Batistuta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maraman Reitsma having to make a save. Maraman Reitsma made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabi Batistuta in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ademar Castro in the 60th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Maraman Reitsma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabi Batistuta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-3. After a rather tough play, Ágætis Byrjun's Jacco Roorda got a free kick in the 89th minute. Maraman Reitsma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademar Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
