In the 17thth minute of the game Wolfgang Vesterø who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Racing Miami Futbol Club's Franco Di Giambattista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 24th match minute, Pheonix FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 任正振 to maneuver through the defense. Tyge Oehlerich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merrill Banks in the 27th minute of play. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Racing Miami Futbol Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcel Militaru was slow to take the kick. During this time Pheonix FC's players had a chance to rest. Wolfgang Vesterø struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Franco Di Giambattista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pheonix FC. After a defensive mix-up in Racing Miami Futbol Club's zone, Wolfgang Vesterø stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franco Di Giambattista came out of the goal and Wolfgang Vesterø tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Shane Smiley made a kick off. Racing Miami Futbol Club's Franco Di Giambattista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wolfgang Vesterø in the 52nd minute of play. Wolfgang Vesterø struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Franco Di Giambattista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pheonix FC. Franco Di Giambattista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wolfgang Vesterø in the 56th minute of play. Franco Di Giambattista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wolfgang Vesterø in the 66th minute of the match. Jonathan Rosby's late challenge caught a Racing Miami Futbol Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Rosby helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Racing Miami Futbol Club booed when Pheonix FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Rosby didn't get a good kick on the ball. Racing Miami Futbol Club made a substitution. Denny Godwin replaced Chu Zheng Yu. Racing Miami Futbol Club's Keenan Worthington was substituted for Merrill Banks. In the 73rd minute, Jonathan Rosby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Racing Miami Futbol Club's attentive James Joyner managed to snatch the ball when Leonhard Askeby made a throw-in in the 75th minute of the game. Pheonix FC's Wolfgang Vesterø got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st match minute, Pheonix FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonhard Askeby to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shane Smiley in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tyge Oehlerich saved Pheonix FC from getting behind. Tyge Oehlerich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shane Smiley in the 85th minute of play. Franco Di Giambattista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wolfgang Vesterø, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wolfgang Vesterø scored 1-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franco Di Giambattista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
