After 13 minutes, Mário Alvarenga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 20 DE SETEMBRO and the Nautilus players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute, Mário Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gil de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Guilherme Cosme in the 18th minute of the match. If Luiz Guilherme Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Dudu Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Alessandro Neves came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the 20 DE SETEMBRO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alessandro Neves couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute, Cacá Souto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Guilherme Cosme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Gil de Medeiros made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as 20 DE SETEMBRO's Luiz Guilherme Cosme slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gil de Medeiros. That made the score 2-0 after 31 minutes of play. The supporters of 20 DE SETEMBRO booed when Nautilus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Furtado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clóvis Corrêa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil de Medeiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Luiz Guilherme Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil de Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Guilherme Cosme in the 43rd minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Luiz Guilherme Cosme made the kick off in the second half. Gil de Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Guilherme Cosme's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Alessandro Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Gil de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tarcisio Favoretto's late challenge caught a 20 DE SETEMBRO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tarcisio Favoretto helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of 20 DE SETEMBRO booed when Nautilus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Favoretto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute Luiz Guilherme Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luiz Guilherme Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Guilherme Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Gil de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 81 minutes into the game, one of Nautilus:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Alessandro Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. 20 DE SETEMBRO's supporters rose to their feet, but Alessandro Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil de Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dudu Neiva was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 86th minute, Dudu Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Nautilus's zone, Alessandro Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil de Medeiros came out of the goal and Alessandro Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Alessandro Neves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gil de Medeiros was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Luiz Guilherme Cosme struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Gil de Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 20 DE SETEMBRO. Gil de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Cosme in the 95th minute of play. Nautilus's Gil de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro Neves in the 96th minute of play. Luís Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil de Medeiros having to interfere. 20 DE SETEMBRO's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
