Spectators: 7537 (Terracing: 5654, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bruno Gotti took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Chancy Olympique booed when Carpathians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Gotti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorin Petrică received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Remo Steingher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chancy Olympique's Remo Steingher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Gotti in the 12th minute of play. Chancy Olympique's Remo Steingher proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Chancy Olympique from getting a goal against them. Remo Steingher made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Dorin Petrică sent off a good shot on target. In the 18th minute of the match, Dorin Petrică got a very nice opportunity to score, but Remo Steingher was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 18th minute, Bruno Gotti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Remo Steingher was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Carpathians's Basarab Pârcălab played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabor Helfenstein in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute Lienhard DeGrasse suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 30 minutes, Dorin Petrică mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carpathians and the Chancy Olympique players grew even worse after the yellow card. With an all-out effort, Carpathians's Remo Steingher threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bruno Gotti, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Memo Funes fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carpathians's protests and gave Memo Funes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Carpathians getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Memo Funes hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zelimir Marty was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Gabor Helfenstein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claude Zurbuchen kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th minute, Nuno Bettencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zelimir Marty hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Constantin Cârstea in the 60th minute of play forced Chancy Olympique's goalkeeper Remo Steingher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 63 played minutes Chancy Olympique got a freekick which was hit by Zelimir Marty. If Dorin Petrică had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Constantin Cârstea took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remo Steingher. Remo Steingher dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 71 minutes into the match, Chancy Olympique's goal looked a bit too open when Constantin Cârstea came free, but Remo Steingher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dorin Petrică fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo Steingher having to interfere. Dorin Petrică sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Dorin Petrică notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Chancy Olympique's Remo Steingher. Remo Steingher was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dudu Georgescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remo Steingher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Remo Steingher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Constantin Cârstea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the match, Bruno Gotti notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Chancy Olympique's Remo Steingher. Remo Steingher was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Remo Steingher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Constantin Cârstea in the 93rd minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Carpathians had played much better football throughout.
