Claudio Gentile hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Dorin Petrică received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Bengt Ånger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Bruno Gotti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bengt Ånger was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 17 minutes into the game, Dudu Georgescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carpathians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cheetah Team the free kick. In the 17th minute, one of Carpathians:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Carpathians. Dudu Georgescu hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Karl-Åke Drake hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After 42 played minutes Cheetah Team got a freekick which was hit by Dan Lundström. When Dorin Petrică came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Carpathians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dorin Petrică couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 51st minute, Constantin Cârstea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 52nd minute, Karl-Åke Drake hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Agne Bergfelt fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cheetah Team's protests and gave Agne Bergfelt a yellow card for diving instead. 55 minutes into the match, Cheetah Team's goalkeeper Bengt Ånger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Constantin Cârstea. Tord Jakobsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tord Jakobsson's late challenge caught a Carpathians's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tord Jakobsson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cheetah Team's Tord Jakobsson got a free kick in the 61st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Carpathians's zone, Tord Jakobsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basarab Pârcălab came out of the goal and Tord Jakobsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Michel Skräddare kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After 69 minutes, Bruno Gotti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carpathians and the Cheetah Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. Constantin Cârstea's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 72ndth minute, Bengt Ånger skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cheetah Team's Bengt Ånger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Gotti in the 74th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Constantin Cârstea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bengt Ånger. Cheetah Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Constantin Cârstea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 83 minutes into the game, Carpathians's Constantin Cârstea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bengt Ånger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. 93 minutes into the game, Cheetah Team's Michel Skräddare nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Basarab Pârcălab made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Carpathians's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
