Denílson Fernandes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Angel Etxeberri made a huge save. After some careless play in the Academia FC defense, William Couto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angel Etxeberri. The Academia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angel Etxeberri should have stopped the shot. Angel Etxeberri was a little too slow when Denílson Fernandes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 4-0. Matías de Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Dário Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Frantzes in the 42nd minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Atilano Sugoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denílson Fernandes in the 44thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Angel Etxeberri, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Gustavo Leão in the 53rd minute of play forced Academia FC's goalkeeper Angel Etxeberri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denílson Fernandes took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angel Etxeberri. Angel Etxeberri dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia FC's goalkeeper Angel Etxeberri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Gustavo Leão in the 70th minute of play forced Academia FC's goalkeeper Angel Etxeberri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denílson Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Angel Etxeberri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Amílton Lopez fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Irreal Madrid's protests and gave Amílton Lopez a yellow card for diving instead. Angel Etxeberri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amílton Lopez in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angel Etxeberri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Delmiro Quico hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Irreal Madrid's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
