The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Manos Papaiakovou made a fantastic save in the 2nd minute, when Alfonso Isaio sent off a good shot on target. 4 minutes into the match, EL CERVECERO F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Panagiotis Bourousis came free, but Arnaldo Macerio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manos Christodoulou kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Manos Papaiakovou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Dolcet in the 17th minute of the match. When Camilo Tartalo came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the EL CERVECERO F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camilo Tartalo couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Go Ahead Eagles getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Nikos Moustos hit a great ball. Adolfo Jerrold came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Manos Papaiakovou could save by the left post. Alfonso Isaio took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manos Papaiakovou. Manos Papaiakovou dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Arnaldo Macerio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panagiotis Bourousis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Alfonso Isaio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manos Papaiakovou was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Manos Christodoulou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 minutes of play, EL CERVECERO F.C.'s Alfonso Isaio made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manos Papaiakovou was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Dolcet in the 48th minute of play forced Go Ahead Eagles's goalkeeper Manos Papaiakovou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Panagiotis Bourousis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Nikos Moustos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 55th minute Periklis Vakalis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Macerio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Go Ahead Eagles's Christodoulos Vazakas got a free kick in the 88th minute. The supporters of EL CERVECERO F.C. booed when Go Ahead Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christodoulos Vazakas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute, Alfonso Isaio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Go Ahead Eagles's Manos Papaiakovou didn't even have to move. The referee felt a red card was in order, 92 minutes into the game, when Benito Tipi put in a rough tackle. In the 93rd minute, Benito Tipi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute of the match, Manos Christodoulou got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arnaldo Macerio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. EL CERVECERO F.C. had won after a very even match.
