Freek Van Hoyvelt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Paes in the 2nd minute of the match. Freek Van Hoyvelt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edu Nóbrega in the 4th minute of play. Edmílson Britto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marco Jamieson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. In the 10th minute, Edu Nóbrega left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trindade Atlético Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After some careless play in the SK Gullegem defense, Cássio Paes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Freek Van Hoyvelt. The SK Gullegem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Freek Van Hoyvelt should have stopped the shot. Davi Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Cássio Paes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trindade Atlético Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. 22 minutes into the match, SK Gullegem's goal looked a bit too open when Yan Pereira came free, but Freek Van Hoyvelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freek Van Hoyvelt came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Trindade Atlético Club's Cássio Paes. But to his dismay, Cássio Paes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Freek Van Hoyvelt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cássio Paes's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Freek Van Hoyvelt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edu Nóbrega, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Edmílson Britto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Verhaeghen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmílson Britto came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by SK Gullegem's Michael Verhaeghen. But to his dismay, Michael Verhaeghen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. In the 37th minute, SK Gullegem's Marco Jamieson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edmílson Britto. Edmílson Britto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. 40 minutes into the game, Maurus Jamieson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SK Gullegem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trindade Atlético Club the free kick. A collision led to SK Gullegem getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Maurus Jamieson hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Paes in the 43rd minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Freek Van Hoyvelt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Edmond Walder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute, Yan Pereira made a precise shot to the right of Freek Van Hoyvelt. SK Gullegem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-5. Disappointed in the 3-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Michael Verhaeghen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute Marco Jamieson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmílson Britto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th minute, Marco Jamieson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SK Gullegem's Freek Van Hoyvelt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Paes in the 61st minute of play. SK Gullegem's Freek Van Hoyvelt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save SK Gullegem from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Trindade Atlético Club booed when SK Gullegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederic Hollandts didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giovani Sergipano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the game, Trindade Atlético Club's Cássio Paes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Freek Van Hoyvelt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-7. In the 82nd minute, Edu Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmílson Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Jamieson, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute.
