Freek Van Hoyvelt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Frederic Hollandts hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. If Alphonse Keita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, SK Gullegem's Albertus Reijdams got a free kick in the 15th minute. Freek Van Hoyvelt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alphonse Keita, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. A collision led to SK Gullegem getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Maurus Jamieson hit a great ball. Freek Van Hoyvelt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Heim in the 19th minute of the match. Marco Jamieson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Žydrūnas Danielius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, FC Saubrigues's goalkeeper Žydrūnas Danielius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco Jamieson. Freek Van Hoyvelt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bruno Heim went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maurus Jamieson during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bruno Heim struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Freek Van Hoyvelt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Saubrigues. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Heim in the 28th minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Freek Van Hoyvelt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Carlos Augusto do Valle fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Saubrigues's protests and gave Carlos Augusto do Valle a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in FC Saubrigues's zone, Michael Verhaeghen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Žydrūnas Danielius came out of the goal and Michael Verhaeghen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alphonse Keita in the 36th minute of play forced SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Freek Van Hoyvelt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Freek Van Hoyvelt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Heim in the 37th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute Bruno Heim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freek Van Hoyvelt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michel Jamieson's late challenge caught a FC Saubrigues's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Michel Jamieson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th minute, Michel Jamieson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Jamieson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Michael Verhaeghen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, FC Saubrigues's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Verhaeghen came free, but Žydrūnas Danielius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54thth minute of the game Michael Verhaeghen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Saubrigues's Žydrūnas Danielius was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Žydrūnas Danielius came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by SK Gullegem's Marco Jamieson. But to his dismay, Marco Jamieson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 60th minute, Florent Flinois reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Freek Van Hoyvelt. The goal made the score 1-3. Freek Van Hoyvelt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mario Fatoux in the 66th minute. After having played for 72 minutes, Marco Jamieson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Gullegem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Jamieson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SK Gullegem's Freek Van Hoyvelt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save SK Gullegem from getting a goal against them. 81 minutes into the match, SK Gullegem's goal looked a bit too open when Florent Flinois came free, but Freek Van Hoyvelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SK Gullegem's Freek Van Hoyvelt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save SK Gullegem from getting a goal against them. In the 87th minute of the match, Bruno Heim tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Freek Van Hoyvelt saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Saubrigues eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
