Afonsinho Aguiar's late challenge caught a Atletico Maturrango's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonsinho Aguiar helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to λᴠαηᴛє ғᴄ.ᴿˢ•ᴮR getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Afonsinho Aguiar hit a great ball. After 20 played minutes Atletico Maturrango got a freekick which was hit by Eufemio Andonegui. 22 minutes into the game, Sidnei Trancoso recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bayındır Otay. Sidnei Trancoso showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Hulberto Arias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th minute, Gilberto Medeiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The λᴠαηᴛє ғᴄ.ᴿˢ•ᴮR fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. λᴠαηᴛє ғᴄ.ᴿˢ•ᴮR's Bebeto Amaral was substituted for Rafinha Furtado. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
