Arlindo Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Carlucci, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Arrigo Berardo took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arlindo Meireles. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Carlucci to make the kick off. Xurupita FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 51st minute, when Bianco Giannico scored to the left of an out of position Arlindo Meireles, making the score, 0-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fedele Volponi during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some careless play in the Xurupita FC defense, Frank Carlucci kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arlindo Meireles. The Xurupita FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arlindo Meireles should have stopped the shot. Xurupita FC's Arlindo Meireles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Xurupita FC from getting a goal against them. Xurupita FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Arrigo Berardo scored to the left of an out of position Arlindo Meireles, making the score, 1-8. When Laércio Alvarenga fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xurupita FC's protests and gave Laércio Alvarenga a yellow card for diving instead. Bianco Giannico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Arlindo Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. S.S.C. NAPOLI's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
