With a little luck, Torreoncito's Abner Dohrmann got control of the ball when Ted Lenberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, Torreoncito's Plácido Matamala nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vilgot Tolsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 76 minutes into the match, Andy Västerberg dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Abner Dohrmann, 2-3. Vilgot Tolsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baldomiro Bascur's shot from short distance in the 90th minute.
