Patrice Arlot struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Gugu Gaúcho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for R.C. Marseille. Marseille's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nelson Rosado helped the player get up and apologised. Gugu Gaúcho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mickael Pagias went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Mickael Pagias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gugu Gaúcho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Bruno Ernst took a quick shot and it went in 6-0 without a chance for Gugu Gaúcho to make any attempt to save it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wesley Tróia to strike the kick off in the second half. Bruno Ernst took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gugu Gaúcho. Gugu Gaúcho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Gugu Gaúcho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bruno Ernst went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. 72 minutes into the match, Barra Funda F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Ernst came free, but Gugu Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Félicien Boucard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Barra Funda F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Ernst came free, but Gugu Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gugu Gaúcho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 87 minutes, Wesley Tróia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barra Funda F.C and the R.C. Marseille players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wesley Tróia hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Barra Funda F.C defense, Bruno Ernst kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gugu Gaúcho. The Barra Funda F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gugu Gaúcho should have stopped the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. R.C. Marseille had played much better football throughout.
