Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Christijan Oorthuis took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christijan Oorthuis in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olavo Vasconcelos saved Desportiva Paulo Afonso from getting behind. Olavo Vasconcelos made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Christijan Oorthuis sent off a good shot on target. Renatinho Braga took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ferry Abbenbroek. Ferry Abbenbroek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 14th minute Renatinho Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferry Abbenbroek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fc Benefica's Ferry Abbenbroek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Garcia in the 15th minute of play. Desportiva Paulo Afonso's Olavo Vasconcelos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Desportiva Paulo Afonso from getting a goal against them. Fc Benefica's Ferry Abbenbroek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Garcia in the 24th minute of play. Ferry Abbenbroek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Garcia in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th match minute, Desportiva Paulo Afonso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. Olavo Vasconcelos came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Fc Benefica's Christijan Oorthuis. But to his dismay, Christijan Oorthuis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Amílton Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferry Abbenbroek having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Christijan Oorthuis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olavo Vasconcelos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 45th match minute, Desportiva Paulo Afonso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renatinho Braga to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Garcia was the one to do the kick off. Giovanni Roodenburg's late challenge caught a Desportiva Paulo Afonso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giovanni Roodenburg helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Fc Benefica getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Giovanni Roodenburg hit a great ball. Theo Blikman scored 3-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Olavo Vasconcelos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 62nd minute Timmie van Zaanen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernandinho Paes, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Desportiva Paulo Afonso's Dinei Moraes got a free kick in the 75th minute. After 76 played minutes, Fc Benefica's Jordy Kooij shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Olavo Vasconcelos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fc Benefica reached it. In the 79th minute Luuk Ridder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Desportiva Paulo Afonso getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Amílton Travassos hit a great ball. In the 82ndth minute of the game Christijan Oorthuis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Desportiva Paulo Afonso's Olavo Vasconcelos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Fc Benefica's Sjoerd Wilson got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Desportiva Paulo Afonso's Olavo Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luuk Ridder in the 85th minute of play. When Sjoerd Wilson fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Benefica's protests and gave Sjoerd Wilson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st minute, Sjoerd Wilson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ferry Abbenbroek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. There was no doubt that Fc Benefica were the better team. Fc Benefica's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
