In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Baez FC's goalkeeper Hipolito Orden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Augusto Sampaio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hipolito Orden. That made the score 4-0 in the 18 minute of play. A collision led to Baez FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Pepe Ustariz hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Baez FC's zone, Hermínio Ferraz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hipolito Orden came out of the goal and Hermínio Ferraz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rony Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Gaete, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Baez FC's Casimír Fadda got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Hermínio Ferraz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hipolito Orden came out and tried to block the shot, but Hermínio Ferraz slotted it home off the left post making it 7-0 in the 42nd minute. Alvinegro Carioca made a substitution. Gilvan de Carvalho replaced Carlos Augusto Sampaio.

Adolfo Gaete could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Rony Netto made a huge save. In the 54th minute Antonio Cumplido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hipolito Orden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilvan de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Augusto Quirino in the 73rd minute of play forced Baez FC's goalkeeper Hipolito Orden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hipolito Orden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Pereira in the 77th minute of play. Hipolito Orden didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tadeu Sarmento went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. In the 82nd minute, Hermínio Ferraz made a precise shot to the right of Hipolito Orden. Baez FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. If José Augusto Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute.
