The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlitos Garzon got free with Luís Fábio Bezerra in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luís Fábio Bezerra made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Andreas Winehouse sent off a good shot on target. 26 minutes into the game, Afonsinho Lucas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Phoenix Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vodka Stars 1949 the free kick. A collision led to Phoenix Fc getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. In the 46th match minute, Phoenix Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betão Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Juan-Alfredo Toledo scored 2-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Fábio Bezerra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Luís Fábio Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andreas Winehouse in the 55th minute of play. Andreas Winehouse took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Fábio Bezerra. Luís Fábio Bezerra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 61st minute Juan-Alfredo Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62ndth minute of the game Juan-Alfredo Toledo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Phoenix Fc's Luís Fábio Bezerra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
