Vincent Molin's late challenge caught a FC Tó Madeira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vincent Molin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Tó Madeira booed when Norrlands Athen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Molin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kent Backman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Micael Rios, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Micael Rios notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Norrlands Athen's Kent Backman. Kent Backman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 45th minute Micael Rios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kent Backman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Josef Lundhberg threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC Tó Madeira's Hugo Baldaia quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Horácio Henriques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

FC Tó Madeira's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
