Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Valdemar Quadros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- from getting a goal against them. Astor Liher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Valdemar Quadros made a huge save. 12 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goal looked a bit too open when Eleuterio Benvide came free, but Valdemar Quadros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angelo Deunoro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Valdemar Quadros made a huge save. 16 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goalkeeper Valdemar Quadros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Angelo Deunoro. After 16 minutes, Angelo Deunoro made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Valdemar Quadros tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Manfredo Cabral got a free kick in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Deunoro in the 30th minute of play forced Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goalkeeper Valdemar Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Tostão Pernambucano got a free kick in the 31st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s zone, Eleuterio Benvide stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdemar Quadros came out of the goal and Eleuterio Benvide tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudio Urbasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Quadros having to interfere. In the 36th match minute, Atlético Rio Cuarto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Deunoro to maneuver through the defense. Bonifacio Ado kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Valdemar Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eleuterio Benvide in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eurico Pinho to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Remo Carneiro took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Celso Lonzo to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eleuterio Benvide in the 59th minute of play forced Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goalkeeper Valdemar Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute Angelo Deunoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Angelo Deunoro in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdemar Quadros saved Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- from getting behind. In the 65th minute of the match Atlético Rio Cuarto got a corner. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Astor Liher ran over to the corner to take the kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osvaldo Orlondon during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Atlético Rio Cuarto getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Osvaldo Orlondon hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the game, Enzo Godoy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Rio Cuarto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- the free kick. Enzo Godoy kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. The supporters of Atlético Rio Cuarto booed when Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betinho Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 played minutes, Atlético Rio Cuarto's Astor Liher shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valdemar Quadros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atlético Rio Cuarto reached it. Valdemar Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eleuterio Benvide in the 90th minute of play. Angelo Deunoro took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdemar Quadros. Valdemar Quadros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Atlético Rio Cuarto fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
