Spectators: 7541 (Terracing: 5657, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Pablo Sayvion started the match with the kick off. After 4 played minutes Ψ virgen Ψ got a freekick which was hit by Baldomero Lobo. Mingo Torrente took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 4th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dalmacio Manuelo. Ψ virgen Ψ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Anacleto Clementi struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Dalmacio Manuelo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newells Old Boys. Dalmacio Manuelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anacleto Clementi, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Newells Old Boys were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Ψ virgen Ψ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mingo Torrente took the corner. The corner ended in Nestor Tabb almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ψ virgen Ψ's Dalmacio Manuelo did a great save. Ψ virgen Ψ's Dalmacio Manuelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mingo Torrente in the 21st minute of play. Pablo Sayvion who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Leon Bartuelo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Mingo Torrente came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Newells Old Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mingo Torrente couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute of the match, Pablo Sayvion got a very nice opportunity to score, but Leon Bartuelo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 38 minutes, Anacleto Clementi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newells Old Boys and the Ψ virgen Ψ players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ψ virgen Ψ booed when Newells Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Clementi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ψ virgen Ψ's Jonas Birila got a free kick in the 43rd minute. If Anacleto Clementi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 53 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Prospero Santo. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fausto Gonzales in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leon Bartuelo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Joaquin Jerrald fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newells Old Boys's protests and gave Joaquin Jerrald a yellow card for diving instead. In the 61st minute, Joaquin Jerrald hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Newells Old Boys defense, Blas Espiridion kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leon Bartuelo. The Newells Old Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leon Bartuelo should have stopped the shot. A hard shot 75 in the game by Anacleto Clementi from a close distance when the talented Dalmacio Manuelo managed to make a qualified save. Ψ virgen Ψ's players were relieved. The Ψ virgen Ψ fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when Ψ virgen Ψ's Blas Espiridion looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 81 minutes into the match, Ψ virgen Ψ's goal looked a bit too open when Mingo Torrente came free, but Dalmacio Manuelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the game, Mingo Torrente recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dalmacio Manuelo. Mingo Torrente showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Newells Old Boys's zone, Fausto Gonzales stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leon Bartuelo came out of the goal and Fausto Gonzales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dalmacio Manuelo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nestor Tabb went, in the 99th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score.
