Mpenza Thabang was out of position in the 3 minute of play, and Mingo Torrente capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mingo Torrente really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Guillermo Ovando took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Mpenza Thabang to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when Eiffel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phillip Mhlongo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Guillermo Ovando left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newells Old Boys fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Anacleto Clementi took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mpenza Thabang. Mpenza Thabang dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Mpenza Thabang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anacleto Clementi in the 16th minute. Guillermo Ovando took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mpenza Thabang. Mpenza Thabang dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Newells Old Boys's Guillermo Ovando slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mpenza Thabang. That made the score 6-0 after 20 minutes of play. After 23 minutes, Etienne Kolwa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eiffel and the Newells Old Boys players grew even worse after the yellow card. Etienne Kolwa kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Mingo Torrente ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mpenza Thabang was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. In the 29th minute, Anacleto Clementi made a precise shot to the right of Mpenza Thabang. Eiffel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. 32 minutes into the game, Mingo Torrente recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mpenza Thabang. Mingo Torrente showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 9-0. 36 minutes into the match, Eiffel's goalkeeper Mpenza Thabang had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anacleto Clementi. 43 minutes into the game, Guillermo Ovando cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Mpenza Thabang was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eiffel's Mpenza Thabang proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Eiffel from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Eiffel getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Tyrell Klein hit a great ball. If Anacleto Clementi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 11-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mando Modise made a kick off. Joaquin Jerrald charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquin Jerrald the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Newells Old Boys's Joaquin Jerrald got a free kick in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anacleto Clementi in the 61st minute of play forced Eiffel's goalkeeper Mpenza Thabang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Eiffel's goal looked a bit too open when Anacleto Clementi came free, but Mpenza Thabang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mpenza Thabang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anacleto Clementi in the 64th minute of the match. Mpenza Thabang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mingo Torrente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eiffel's Mpenza Thabang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mingo Torrente in the 68th minute of play. After 69 played minutes Eiffel got a freekick which was hit by Enock Mbheki. Nestor Tabb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Mpenza Thabang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eiffel's Mpenza Thabang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anacleto Clementi in the 76th minute of play. Mpenza Thabang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Tabb in the 78th minute of play. Mingo Torrente scored 14-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mpenza Thabang, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 82 minutes into the match, Anacleto Clementi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mpenza Thabang. Eiffel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anacleto Clementi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 15-0. Mingo Torrente scored 17-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mpenza Thabang, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mpenza Thabang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mingo Torrente, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Eiffel's goal looked a bit too open when Mingo Torrente came free, but Mpenza Thabang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Eiffel's goal looked a bit too open when Anacleto Clementi came free, but Mpenza Thabang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
