Quim Barreiros had several of the Gençlerbirliği's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 11 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Güner Tarancı as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 14th match minute, Arrebimba o Malho SLB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sabino Prestes to maneuver through the defense. Quim Barreiros received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Güner Tarancı came out and tried to block the shot, but Quim Barreiros slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 18th minute. Gençlerbirliği's Güner Tarancı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heitor Neves in the 21st minute of play. Gençlerbirliği's Rıfkı Tanpınar got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Arrebimba o Malho SLB booed when Gençlerbirliği was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arslan Songurhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Arrebimba o Malho SLB's Güner Tarancı threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Quim Barreiros, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rıfkı Tanpınar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lúcio Lopes having to make a save. Güner Tarancı showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Januário Martins in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Gençlerbirliği's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Januário Martins fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Gençlerbirliği's Güner Tarancı proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Gençlerbirliği from getting a goal against them. After 43 minutes, Sidónio Miguéis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arrebimba o Malho SLB and the Gençlerbirliği players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gençlerbirliği booed when Arrebimba o Malho SLB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidónio Miguéis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the game, Sabino Prestes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arrebimba o Malho SLB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gençlerbirliği the free kick. Sabino Prestes hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Gençlerbirliği's Arslan Songurhan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Rıfkı Tanpınar made the kick off in the second half. Güner Tarancı didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Quim Barreiros went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 59th minute, Quim Barreiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arrebimba o Malho SLB fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quim Barreiros in the 63rd minute of play forced Gençlerbirliği's goalkeeper Güner Tarancı to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kaan Akboğa kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Ivo Coutinho took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Güner Tarancı. Güner Tarancı dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Güner Tarancı didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Januário Martins went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. 87 minutes into the match, Quim Barreiros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Güner Tarancı. Gençlerbirliği's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Quim Barreiros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. In the 95th minute Januário Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Güner Tarancı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Arrebimba o Malho SLB had played much better football throughout.
