Spectators: 7604 (Terracing: 5704, Seating: 1749, VIP seats: 151) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Emerson Salles got the match started through his kick off. With an all-out effort, Genk's Davy Reuter threw himself towards the right post 2 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dyllan Vandenberge, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Genk's Sergio Coomans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão Jacinto in the 3rd minute of play. After having played for 4 minutes, Ronaldão Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oiteiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldão Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sergio Coomans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldão Fontes in the 9th minute of play. After 11 minutes of play, Oiteiras's Dadá Perez made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sergio Coomans was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 13 minutes, Ronaldão Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oiteiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldão Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sergio Coomans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dadá Perez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charly Tombuer in the 22nd minute of play forced Oiteiras's goalkeeper Davy Reuter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emerson Salles scored 1-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergio Coomans, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 35 minutes, Jânio de Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oiteiras and the Genk players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Genk booed when Oiteiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jânio de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruud De Spiegeleire took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Davy Reuter. Oiteiras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Oiteiras's goal looked a bit too open when Maarten Belmans came free, but Davy Reuter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Genk's Sergio Coomans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emerson Salles in the 42nd minute of play. After the first half Oiteiras were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maarten Belmans stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Oiteiras's Pedrão Jacinto got a free kick in the 51st minute. Dadá Perez in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sergio Coomans, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Maarten Belmans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maarten Belmans kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Sergio Coomans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Sergio Coomans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emerson Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oiteiras's Vladimir Baiano was substituted for Dadá Perez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldão Fontes in the 87th minute of play forced Genk's goalkeeper Sergio Coomans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Oiteiras's Emerson Salles in 89 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Sergio Coomans guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Genk's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Pedrão Jacinto scored to the left of an out of position Sergio Coomans, making the score, 1-3. Oiteiras's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
