The Club Olimpia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Astros de México's Rigoberto Ilixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cebo Morejon in the 21st minute of play. After 29 minutes of play, Astros de México's Paulo Román made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dalmacio Caldueño was left in no man's land by his defense there! Foro Constante charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Foro Constante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 33rd match minute, Club Olimpia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Foro Constante to maneuver through the defense. Astros de México's Ezequiel Aurre shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 34th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dalmacio Caldueño but with some difficulty. After 35 minutes, Niva Azpiazu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Olimpia and the Astros de México players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Astros de México booed when Club Olimpia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niva Azpiazu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club Olimpia's Dalmacio Caldueño proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Club Olimpia from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Guido Salomon kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dalmacio Caldueño. That made the score 3-1 in the 39 minute of play. Cordarrol Tama scored 3-2 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rigoberto Ilixo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cebo Morejon during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

Niva Azpiazu took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rigoberto Ilixo. Rigoberto Ilixo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. In the 65th minute Guido Salomon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmacio Caldueño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 played minutes Astros de México got a freekick which was hit by Celedonio Evangelista. In the 70th minute, Niva Azpiazu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the match, Club Olimpia's goal looked a bit too open when Angulo Cabañero came free, but Dalmacio Caldueño reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celedonio Evangelista charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celedonio Evangelista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 82nd minute, Celedonio Evangelista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Cibran Anduiza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Olimpia's supporters rose to their feet, but Cibran Anduiza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rigoberto Ilixo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Cebo Morejon was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 89 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Club Olimpia's Toli Buron got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When Joaquin Soter came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Astros de México fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquin Soter couldn't finish the play. Ezequiel Aurre kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
