Spectators: 7522 (Terracing: 5642, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) 3 minutes into the match, Paulo Renato Linhares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arne Blomqvist. MaLe FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Renato Linhares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 8th minute, Paulo Renato Linhares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maverick Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Arne Blomqvist came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Maverick Futebol Clube's Sandrinho Quintal. But to his dismay, Sandrinho Quintal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. With a little luck, Maverick Futebol Clube's Wesley Meira got control of the ball when Ingemar Larsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, MaLe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Renato Linhares came free, but Arne Blomqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wesley Meira was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Ingemar Larsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ingemar Larsson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. In the 20th minute, Bo-Erik Jonsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 27 played minutes Maverick Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Linhares. Arne Blomqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 32 minutes of play, Maverick Futebol Clube's Sandrinho Quintal made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arne Blomqvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! 46 minutes into the match, Maverick Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Wesley Meira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ingemar Larsson.

Wesley Meira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Olof Duset in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Sandrinho Quintal made a precise shot to the right of Arne Blomqvist. MaLe FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. The referee gave Maverick Futebol Clube a penalty, 59 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Paulo Renato Linhares, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of MaLe FC's Arne Blomqvist. 1-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandrinho Quintal in the 62nd minute of play forced MaLe FC's goalkeeper Arne Blomqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th match minute, MaLe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sverker Fanström to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sverker Fanström during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sverker Fanström kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. When Raimundo Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Maverick Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raimundo Abraão couldn't finish the play. If Karl-Axel Gustavsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, MaLe FC's Arne Blomqvist got control of the ball when Sandrinho Quintal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cafu Pires hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. The supporters of MaLe FC booed when Maverick Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wesley Meira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Olof Duset, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raimundo Abraão in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Blomqvist saved MaLe FC from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Maverick Futebol Clube eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
