When Buenaventura FC's Toro Martínez in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sandrinho Quintal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leonidas Barrera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Buenaventura FC's Julio Lozano got a free kick in the 29th minute. After 32 played minutes Maverick Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Cafu Pires. 36 minutes into the match, Toro Martínez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wesley Meira, 1-2. Toro Martínez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wesley Meira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Toro Martínez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 43 minute of play. Toro Martínez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wesley Meira having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Renato Linhares to make the kick off. When Rolando Peralta came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Buenaventura FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rolando Peralta couldn't finish the play. Toro Martínez scored 3-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wesley Meira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Paulo Renato Linhares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonidas Barrera was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 93rd match minute, Maverick Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Buenaventura FC were the better team. Buenaventura FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
