The supporters of Buenaventura FC booed when 27 de Mayo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adhemar Furlan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Luiz Fabiano Albuquerque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute, Toro Martínez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juarês Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Hílton Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Buenaventura FC! Buenaventura FC:s Leonidas Barrera showed great skill when he stopped Carlos Eduardo Rossi:s penalty. Leonidas Barrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hílton Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute of the match 27 de Mayo got a corner. Buenaventura FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Carlos Eduardo Rossi ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Enrique Paredes put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Juarês Corrêa. Toro Martínez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dedê de Senna made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Ronald Goliáš got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Enrique Paredes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 54th minute, Toro Martínez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Juarês Corrêa. The goal made the score 0-3. 27 de Mayo's Juarês Corrêa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save 27 de Mayo from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrique Paredes got free with Juarês Corrêa in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot 68 in the game by Enrique Paredes from a close distance when the talented Juarês Corrêa managed to make a qualified save. 27 de Mayo's players were relieved. In the 70th minute, Carlos Eduardo Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Romel Torrijos came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Buenaventura FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romel Torrijos couldn't finish the play. Leonidas Barrera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hílton Cardoso's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Romel Torrijos kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Enrique Paredes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juarês Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Juarês Corrêa made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Enrique Paredes sent off a good shot on target.
