The audience thought a goal was coming when Braulio Pierres got free with Tomas Olazarra in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Olazarra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Braulio Pierres in the 6th minute. 9 minutes into the match, El Pinar's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Caetano came free, but Tomas Olazarra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Braulio Pierres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Tomas Olazarra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Galsino Bradi charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Galsino Bradi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Galsino Bradi kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Braulio Pierres. Benicio Danel kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Uriel Raymon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rosario Encalada's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Tomas Olazarra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benicio Danel in the 16th minute of the match. Uriel Raymon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Borrero in the 17th minute of play. Emilio Lizer hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Atarrabi Herbella managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Pinar's supporters rose to their feet, but Atarrabi Herbella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uriel Raymon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Velez Sarsfield's Isaac Marcones couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 26th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for El Pinar. When Braulio Pierres came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Velez Sarsfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Braulio Pierres couldn't finish the play. Tomas Olazarra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benicio Danel in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimeno Caetano in the 33rd minute of play forced El Pinar's goalkeeper Tomas Olazarra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 played minutes El Pinar got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Borrero. In the 38th minute Braulio Pierres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Olazarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uriel Raymon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafino Dominguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 40th minute, Victorio Gilesindo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 42 minutes on the clock, Nuxila Reguera commited a dangerous tackle. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serafino Dominguez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paulo Borrero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Uriel Raymon made a huge save. Tomas Olazarra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Marcones, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When Benicio Danel fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velez Sarsfield's protests and gave Benicio Danel a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Velez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Benicio Danel hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the game, Jimeno Caetano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Tomas Olazarra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Velez Sarsfield's Isaac Marcones couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for El Pinar. After some careless play in the Velez Sarsfield defense, Serafino Dominguez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Uriel Raymon. The Velez Sarsfield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Uriel Raymon should have stopped the shot. In the 70th minute, El Pinar's Paulo Borrero ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Uriel Raymon. Uriel Raymon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Emilio Lizer kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After having played for 74 minutes, Fulgencio Lazaeta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Pinar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fulgencio Lazaeta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Flores to maneuver through the defense. If Benicio Danel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. El Pinar's Tomas Olazarra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braulio Pierres in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute Benicio Danel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Olazarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conrado Rios hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Isaac Marcones was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 83rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Uriel Raymon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Borrero, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. If Jimeno Caetano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Uriel Raymon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Velez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Victorio Gilesindo hit a great ball. Uriel Raymon made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Conrado Rios sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Angelo Seme got a free kick in the 95th minute. Paulo Borrero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Uriel Raymon made a huge save.
