Merlin Dolan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Falcão Ramalho struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Merlin Dolan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Korban. Nando Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Zamalek FC's Tuan Glover got a free kick in the 18th minute. AC Korban's Flávio Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute Flávio Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merlin Dolan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 28 minutes, Falcão Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Korban's supporters crossed their fingers, but Falcão Ramalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tuan Glover kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Donato Maranhense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Merlin Dolan. Zamalek FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donato Maranhense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Zamalek FC's Merlin Dolan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Baptista in the 41st minute of play. If Nando Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The AC Korban fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when AC Korban's Nando Matos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Merlin Dolan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Baptista in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The crowd rose to their feet as Nando Matos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Merlin Dolan. That made the score 0-5 in the 52 minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Falcão Ramalho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Merlin Dolan. Falcão Ramalho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. When Gilbert Jordan fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zamalek FC's protests and gave Gilbert Jordan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th minute, Gilbert Jordan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flávio Baptista struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Merlin Dolan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Korban. After 67 played minutes AC Korban got a freekick which was hit by Donato Maranhense. Zamalek FC's Merlin Dolan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Zamalek FC from getting a goal against them. Flávio Baptista made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 72ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Merlin Dolan would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Nando Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Merlin Dolan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th match minute, AC Korban was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Carlos Furlan to maneuver through the defense. After 75 played minutes, Zamalek FC's Lloyd Warren shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Oséias Dantas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zamalek FC reached it. Merlin Dolan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute, Flávio Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 84 played minutes AC Korban got a freekick which was hit by Jaime de Castro. 96 minutes into the game, Paul De La Cruz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zamalek FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AC Korban the free kick. In the 96th match minute, Zamalek FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul De La Cruz to maneuver through the defense. The Zamalek FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. AC Korban were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
