In the 14th minute Valdo Salas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florian Azofra kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes, Three Lions FC's Joélson Silveira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Virgilio Marcilla came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Three Lions FC reached it. When George Pavard fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Three Lions FC's protests and gave George Pavard a yellow card for diving instead. Virgilio Marcilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valdo Salas made a kick off. During the 52nd minute of the match George Pavard completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave George Pavard a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 52 played minutes Three Lions FC got a freekick which was hit by George Pavard. Dênis de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Salas, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Dênis de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Curcio Amer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdo Salas in the 60th minute of play forced Three Lions FC's goalkeeper Dênis de Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, Valdo Salas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PERSPOLIS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 69 minutes into the match, Three Lions FC's goal looked a bit too open when Florian Azofra came free, but Dênis de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute Curcio Amer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dênis de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xuaco Otero in the 76th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Three Lions FC's Joélson Silveira got a free kick in the 77th minute. Espartaco Castellano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dênis de Castro. Three Lions FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dênis de Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Curcio Amer in the 81st minute of play. After 85 played minutes Three Lions FC got a freekick which was hit by Cafu de Moraes. The supporters of PERSPOLIS booed when Three Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zézinho Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the PERSPOLIS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
