When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Seb Osbourne took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Zeca Cerezo to make any attempt to save it. 11 minutes into the game, MarquinhosEC's Ulisses Carioca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hugh Wilkinson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Zeca Cerezo was a little too slow when Lewis Piercy got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 2-1. After 24 played minutes Gone With the Win got a freekick which was hit by Seb Osbourne. After a rather tough play, Gone With the Win's Seb Osbourne got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Lewis Piercy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gone With the Win's supporters rose to their feet, but Lewis Piercy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeca Cerezo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 40 played minutes MarquinhosEC got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Barral. In the 43rd minute, Gone With the Win's Lewis Piercy ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zeca Cerezo. Zeca Cerezo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lewis Piercy was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lewis Piercy in the 52nd minute of play forced MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper Zeca Cerezo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zeca Cerezo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Seb Osbourne, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lewis Piercy in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zeca Cerezo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Gone With the Win booed when MarquinhosEC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Souto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Lewis Piercy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gone With the Win's supporters rose to their feet, but Lewis Piercy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeca Cerezo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dorian Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugh Wilkinson having to interfere. Joseph Mulligan hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. A collision led to MarquinhosEC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Henrique Domingues hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the game, Duarte Barral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MarquinhosEC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gone With the Win the free kick. After a rather tough play, MarquinhosEC's Duarte Barral got a free kick in the 70th minute. After 72 minutes of play, Gone With the Win's Basil Parrott made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeca Cerezo was left in no man's land by his defense there! 76 minutes into the match, Ulisses Carioca dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hugh Wilkinson, 4-2. Hugh Wilkinson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulisses Carioca in the 89th minute of play. Hugh Wilkinson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulisses Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Joseph Mulligan was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 97 minutes into the match. After 96 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gone With the Win! In the 99th minute, Henrique Domingues ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hugh Wilkinson was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gone With the Win fans cheered their team off the field, for while MarquinhosEC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
