Spectators: 7523 (Terracing: 5643, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mădălin Petruescu started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Progresul Pitesti got a freekick which was hit by Matei Stelian. In the 3rd minute of the match Cido Cosme shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victor Ciociu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mamutes EC were furious when Cido Cosme was red carded, 5 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a rather tough play, Mamutes EC's Cido Cosme got a free kick in the 6th minute. Aristide Cordescu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 7th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Mamutes EC booed when Progresul Pitesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihăiţă Şchiopu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nilson Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aristide Cordescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute, Edvaldo Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Mădălin Petruescu fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Progresul Pitesti's protests and gave Mădălin Petruescu a yellow card for diving instead. Victor Ciociu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Loureiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 21st match minute, Mamutes EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matheus Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th match minute, Progresul Pitesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilie Bran to maneuver through the defense. Simão de Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victor Ciociu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simão de Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 minutes of play, Mamutes EC's Pedrinho Loureiro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victor Ciociu was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Edvaldo Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ilie Bran kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the game, Mamutes EC's Pedrinho Loureiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victor Ciociu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Progresul Pitesti's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rui Lago was slow to take the kick. During this time Mamutes EC's players had a chance to rest. Mamutes EC's Rui Lago was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Victor Ciociu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After the first half Mamutes EC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedrinho Loureiro made a kick off. If Pedrinho Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61stth minute of the game Edvaldo Soares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Progresul Pitesti's Victor Ciociu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Matheus Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Victor Ciociu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victor Ciociu came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Mamutes EC's Pedrinho Loureiro. But to his dismay, Pedrinho Loureiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Progresul Pitesti's Victor Ciociu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Progresul Pitesti from getting a goal against them. Jailson dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Ciociu having to interfere. Mădălin Petruescu got his second yellow card in the match during the 81st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Mamutes EC booed when Progresul Pitesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mădălin Petruescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Simão de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Victor Ciociu managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Mamutes EC's Pedrinho Loureiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Simão de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedrinho Loureiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victor Ciociu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedrinho Loureiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Simão de Lara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victor Ciociu having to make a save. After 94 played minutes Progresul Pitesti got a freekick which was hit by Dragoş Oloieru. When the final whistle sounded Mamutes EC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Progresul Pitesti.
