Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Progresul Pitesti's Valer Dinculescu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Santo Blanco came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Los Muchachos del 86 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Santo Blanco couldn't finish the play. Victor Ciociu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santo Blanco's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Aristide Cordescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ramiro Erasto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aristide Cordescu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 12th minute, Valer Dinculescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Progresul Pitesti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 15 minutes into the match, Joel Pabla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Victor Ciociu. Progresul Pitesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Pabla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 19 minutes into the match, Los Muchachos del 86's goalkeeper Ramiro Erasto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dragoş Oloieru. Progresul Pitesti were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after Los Muchachos del 86's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aristide Cordescu took the corner. The corner led Progresul Pitesti's Aristide Cordescu to fire away a dangerous shot which Ramiro Erasto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitesti's goal looked a bit too open when Erubiel Presebal came free, but Victor Ciociu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Progresul Pitesti booed when Los Muchachos del 86 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Presebal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Santo Blanco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Victor Ciociu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ramiro Erasto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valer Dinculescu in the 35th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Progresul Pitesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dragoş Oloieru to maneuver through the defense. Victor Ciociu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Pabla in the 40th minute of the match. If Dragoş Oloieru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Pabla to strike the kick off in the second half. Victor Ciociu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Pabla in the 57th minute of play. Serafino Vincent hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. The supporters of Los Muchachos del 86 booed when Progresul Pitesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihăiţă Şchiopu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitesti's goalkeeper Victor Ciociu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santo Blanco. In the 77th minute, Pastor Botello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute Dragoş Oloieru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Erasto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dragoş Oloieru hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Victor Ciociu was a little too slow when Joel Pabla got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 2-4. Mircea Măgură kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Valer Dinculescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Ramiro Erasto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Los Muchachos del 86 getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Joel Pabla hit a great ball. Erubiel Presebal hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Los Muchachos del 86 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los Muchachos del 86 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
