The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Jeremias Preuss had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christian Araoz. HFA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeremias Preuss was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugenio Harroyo during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th minute Jeremias Preuss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Araoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Araoz came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by S.F.'s Jeremias Preuss. But to his dismay, Jeremias Preuss quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Christian Araoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias Preuss in the 13th minute of the match. Victoriano Savion hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Christian Araoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Preuss, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Christian Araoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Jeremias Preuss ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christian Araoz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After a rather tough play, HFA FC's Erasmo Miliano got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in HFA FC's zone, Marcinho das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Araoz came out of the goal and Marcinho das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Araoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcinho das Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Jeremias Preuss had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christian Araoz. Christian Araoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Harroyo in the 38th minute of play. HFA FC's Christian Araoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Moreno in the 39th minute of play. Christian Araoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Araoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcinho das Neves in the 42nd minute of the match. Adilson Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Fonda in the 46th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the game, Marcinho das Neves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Christian Araoz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half S.F. were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilberto Fonda was the one to do the kick off. Adilson Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayetano Esdras in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to S.F. getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Eugenio Harroyo hit a great ball. In the 62nd match minute, HFA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Miliano to maneuver through the defense. When Cayetano Esdras came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the HFA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cayetano Esdras couldn't finish the play. After 71 played minutes S.F. got a freekick which was hit by Marcinho das Neves. HFA FC's Cayetano Esdras got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute Régis Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Araoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, HFA FC's Christian Araoz got control of the ball when Jeremias Preuss tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cayetano Esdras in the 76th minute of play forced S.F.'s goalkeeper Adilson Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, S.F.'s Christian Araoz threw himself towards the right post 78 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Régis Ramalho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Gilberto Fonda came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the HFA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Fonda couldn't finish the play. Adilson Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Savion in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, S.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Victoriano Savion came free, but Adilson Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agustin Gorbea hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind HFA FC's goalkeeper Christian Araoz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
