In the 21stth minute of the game Erubiel Serapio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Green Squad FC's Hugo Diniz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 34 minutes, Vinicio Dominix mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santa Margarita and the Green Squad FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Santa Margarita getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Vinicio Dominix hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Margarita's zone, Lúcio da Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Uriel Jerrald came out of the goal and Lúcio da Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Gustavo de Salles hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. A collision led to Santa Margarita getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Baldomero Berbiz hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 54th minute Erubiel Serapio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Diniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Green Squad FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erubiel Serapio came free, but Hugo Diniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Santa Margarita's Erubiel Serapio in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Serapio in the 90th minute of play forced Green Squad FC's goalkeeper Hugo Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Luís Gustavo de Salles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Santa Margarita supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Santa Margarita would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
