After a defensive mix-up in LIVERPOOL FC's zone, Adalberto Quadros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorel Bunescu came out of the goal and Adalberto Quadros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Adalberto Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the game, Ionel Arghirescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LIVERPOOL FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espigão Steamrollers the free kick. With a little luck, LIVERPOOL FC's Dorel Bunescu got control of the ball when Zé Carlos Paranaense tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Espigão Steamrollers supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Espigão Steamrollers would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
