In the 3rd minute of the match, Joel Barco tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ture Berglund saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 6th minute of the match Porjus got a corner. Estudiantes de La Plata's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bernt Ekberg ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Bernt Ekberg almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Estudiantes de La Plata's Nicolas Kepa did a great save. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Marcos Bilintx took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ture Berglund to make any attempt to save it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joel Barco during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joel Barco hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Rogelio Sotil hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. When Porjus's Wesley Cabral in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Estudiantes de La Plata's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Porjus getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Bernt Ekberg hit a great ball. The Porjus fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Porjus's Wesley Cabral looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 25th match minute, Porjus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Douglas Ahlstedt to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th match minute, Estudiantes de La Plata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Orlondon to maneuver through the defense. Bernt Ekberg kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Marcos Bilintx hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. A hard shot 37 in the game by Rogelio Sotil from a close distance when the talented Ture Berglund managed to make a qualified save. Porjus's players were relieved. If Rogelio Sotil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Joel Barco took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Ture Berglund to make any attempt to save it. Estudiantes de La Plata's Placido Estefan was substituted for Esteve Pueblo. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wesley Cabral to make the kick off. When Rogelio Sotil came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Estudiantes de La Plata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogelio Sotil couldn't finish the play. Placido Estefan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ture Berglund having to interfere. Ture Berglund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Sotil, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Alfred Valler kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Rogelio Sotil took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ture Berglund. Ture Berglund dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Rogelio Sotil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ture Berglund having to interfere. A collision led to Estudiantes de La Plata getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Joel Barco hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper Nicolas Kepa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wesley Cabral. Rogelio Sotil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Wesley Cabral made a precise shot to the right of Nicolas Kepa. Estudiantes de La Plata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. Placido Estefan's late challenge caught a Porjus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Placido Estefan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th match minute, Estudiantes de La Plata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Placido Estefan to maneuver through the defense. Wesley Cabral's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Nicolas Kepa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Wesley Cabral who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Nicolas Kepa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Porjus's Ture Berglund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Sotil in the 86th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Porjus's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Sotil came free, but Ture Berglund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Wesley Cabral left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Porjus fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-4. Marcos Bilintx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Ture Berglund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
