Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rogelio Sotil started the match with the kick off. 2 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Bilintx came free, but Yıldırım Yaman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicolas Kepa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aras Daman in the 5th minute. Uğurcan Oğuzalp kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Sotil in the 12th minute of play forced Fenerbahçe's goalkeeper Yıldırım Yaman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yıldırım Yaman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Bilintx in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Fenerbahçe booed when Estudiantes de La Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Cassano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aras Daman struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Nicolas Kepa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fenerbahçe. 24 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper Nicolas Kepa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tuncer İribaş. 26 minutes into the match, Marcos Bilintx notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Fenerbahçe's Yıldırım Yaman. Yıldırım Yaman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 30 minutes into the game, Marcos Bilintx cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Yıldırım Yaman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 34th minute, Marcos Bilintx left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Estudiantes de La Plata fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 36th match minute, Estudiantes de La Plata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Barco to maneuver through the defense. Yıldırım Yaman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rogelio Sotil went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Yıldırım Yaman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteve Pueblo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. A collision led to Fenerbahçe getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Uğurcan Oğuzalp hit a great ball. After 48 played minutes Fenerbahçe got a freekick which was hit by Uğurcan Oğuzalp. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tuncer İribaş to strike the kick off in the second half. Fenerbahçe were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Estudiantes de La Plata's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tuncer İribaş took the corner. The corner ended in Tuncer İribaş almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Estudiantes de La Plata's Nicolas Kepa did a great save. In the 56th minute, Uğurcan Oğuzalp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tuncer İribaş recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute, Estudiantes de La Plata's Placido Estefan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Yıldırım Yaman. Yıldırım Yaman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. Marcos Bilintx succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 68th playminute. Yıldırım Yaman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Placido Estefan, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The supporters of Fenerbahçe booed when Estudiantes de La Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Placido Estefan didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Fenerbahçe getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Çelebi Budak hit a great ball. Fenerbahçe's Aras Daman got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 89 played minutes Estudiantes de La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Joel Barco. Fenerbahçe's Yıldırım Yaman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Orlondon in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Estefan came free, but Yıldırım Yaman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Çelebi Budak fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fenerbahçe's protests and gave Çelebi Budak a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Estudiantes de La Plata booed when Fenerbahçe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Çelebi Budak didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 98 played minutes, Estudiantes de La Plata's Eliseo Orlondon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Yıldırım Yaman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Estudiantes de La Plata reached it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Estudiantes de La Plata eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
