The referee ignored Real Cruzeiro FC's protests and gave Ronaldo Vianna a yellow card for diving instead. Ronaldo Vianna kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Justino Burutzagi might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivo Amaral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Justino Burutzagi ran back to his position shaking his head. Efrain Bittor charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Efrain Bittor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th minute, Efrain Bittor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Guilherme Cabral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Clemente Astigar made a huge save. Mauro Ortle made in the 18th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Real Cruzeiro FC's Júnior Salles. Aníbal Neto might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clemente Astigar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aníbal Neto ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 23rd minute Real Cruzeiro FC were awarded a corner. Júnior Salles went to the cornerflag to take it. Justino Burutzagi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Amaral having to interfere. When Luís Guilherme Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Real Cruzeiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Guilherme Cabral couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice moves Luís Guilherme Cabral could shoot a difficult shot in the 33rd minute, which Clemente Astigar however easily saved by the left post. The supporters of Real Cruzeiro FC booed when Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Medardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clemente Astigar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Guilherme Cabral in the 39th minute. Ronaldo Vianna hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaias Benvido in the 47th minute of play forced Real Cruzeiro FC's goalkeeper Ivo Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Isaias Benvido to strike the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes, Mauro Ortle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC and the Real Cruzeiro FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ivo Amaral was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Isaias Benvido capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Isaias Benvido really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Clemente Astigar came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Real Cruzeiro FC's Luís Guilherme Cabral. But to his dismay, Luís Guilherme Cabral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Real Cruzeiro FC's Ivo Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Jon in the 93rd minute of play. The Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
