Thiago Pinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcos Mederi's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Michael Ballack scored 0-5 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thiago Pinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 24 minutes, Marcos Mederi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Characate FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Mederi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcos Mederi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Michael Ballack fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Pinho having to interfere. In the 31st minute of the match Primitivo Brun shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thiago Pinho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Marcos Mederi put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Thiago Pinho. In the 38th minute, Marcos Mederi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Characate FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. A collision led to Characate FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Primitivo Brun hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, Hyper9 -DMZ-'s goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Mederi came free, but Thiago Pinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute, Guillermo Barros Schelloto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Pinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. The Hyper9 -DMZ- players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Characate FC were winning 0-8.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Pedro Nóbrega stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 0-9 when Marcos Mederi sped through Hyper9 -DMZ-'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thiago Pinho. 54 minutes into the match, Michael Ballack had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pinho. Hyper9 -DMZ-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Michael Ballack was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-10. Marcos Mederi had several of the Hyper9 -DMZ-'s defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 58 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-11 score and a disappointed Thiago Pinho as he didn't even see the shot coming. Thiago Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loco Palermo in the 64th minute of play. After 65 minutes, Loco Palermo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Characate FC and the Hyper9 -DMZ- players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hyper9 -DMZ- booed when Characate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Loco Palermo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Conrado Trigo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benjamin Price skillfully saved the ball. Characate FC's Loco Palermo got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 71 minutes, Marcos Mederi made it 0-13 with a short kick to the right side. Hyper9 -DMZ-'s Thiago Pinho tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Thiago Pinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Mederi in the 74th minute. The audience was convinced that Marcos Mederi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pinho was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Thiago Pinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Loco Palermo went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-14 was the resulting score. In the 80th minute, Marcos Mederi made a precise shot to the right of Thiago Pinho. Hyper9 -DMZ-'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-15. 83 minutes into the match, Characate FC's Marcos Mederi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 0-16 when Marcos Mederi sped through Hyper9 -DMZ-'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thiago Pinho. The crowd rose to their feet as Guillermo Barros Schelloto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thiago Pinho. That made the score 0-17 in the 88 minute of play. Marcos Mederi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Thiago Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Michael Ballack managed to get in a good position for a shot. Characate FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Michael Ballack was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Pinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcos Mederis short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Thiago Pinho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 96 minutes into the game, Characate FC's Primitivo Brun nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thiago Pinho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-18. Characate FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
