The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ampthill FC's Jamie Kemp got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ampthill FC's Harvey Paget proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Ampthill FC from getting a goal against them. Saint Côme de Fresné's Noël Clenet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Christensen in the 29th minute of play. Simon Mertz charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simon Mertz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Saint Côme de Fresné's Simon Mertz got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute Albert Christensen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noël Clenet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Roger Platt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnathan Morse blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Noël Clenet having to make a save. The Saint Côme de Fresné players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ampthill FC were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guillaume Barillot made a kick off. A collision led to Ampthill FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Johnathan Morse hit a great ball. 64 minutes into the game, Yazid Debuire was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saint Côme de Fresné's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ampthill FC the free kick. In the 65th minute, Yazid Debuire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Ampthill FC's Jamie Kemp got a free kick in the 74th minute. Harvey Paget showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olivier Barnier, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Ampthill FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guillaume Barillot came free, but Harvey Paget reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guillaume Barillot in the 84th minute of play forced Ampthill FC's goalkeeper Harvey Paget to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Saint Côme de Fresné booed when Ampthill FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Christensen didn't get a good kick on the ball.
