The referee ignored Poetass FC's protests and gave Claudinho Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th match minute, Poetass FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinho Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto Amaya's late challenge caught a Poetass FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eriberto Amaya helped the player get up and apologised. Eriberto Amaya hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Zé Augusto Barreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cássio de Senna made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Godofredo Sal sent off a good shot on target. Cássio de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnino Cilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cássio de Senna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Medina in the 37th minute. Godofredo Sal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Cássio de Senna made a huge save. Pastor Manilan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Paulo do Vale in the 39th minute of play. Godofredo Sal might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cássio de Senna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Godofredo Sal ran back to his position shaking his head. Poetass FC's Cássio de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnino Cilio in the 47th minute of play. The Guqueri F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Poetass FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Saturnino Cilio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Cristian Medina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 53 played minutes Poetass FC got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Penha. Cássio de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnino Cilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pastor Manilan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Paulo do Vale in the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Claudinho Saldanha made a precise shot to the right of Pastor Manilan. Guqueri F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 63 minutes into the match, Poetass FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Medina came free, but Cássio de Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Guqueri F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Cavallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olavo Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Pastor Manilan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pastor Manilan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guqueri F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudinho Saldanha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Poetass FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
