The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Håkan Botvidsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathijs Stroobos in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of Julias Rascals Apeldoorn booed when IFK Kik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fritz Ugla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Håkan Botvidsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Govert Kool, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sixten Lund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Taco Zwartkruis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Håkan Botvidsson came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Govert Kool. But to his dismay, Govert Kool quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ferdi van der Struijk hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. When Roelof van Kampen came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Julias Rascals Apeldoorn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roelof van Kampen couldn't finish the play. Roelof van Kampen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathijs Stroobos was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lennart Vallman during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 22nd minute Govert Kool shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Håkan Botvidsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, IFK Kik's goal looked a bit too open when Govert Kool came free, but Håkan Botvidsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Govert Kool cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Håkan Botvidsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Govert Kool scored 0-3 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Håkan Botvidsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Håkan Botvidsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Govert Kool in the 36th minute of the match. Lennart Vallman kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute of the match Mathijs Stroobos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Håkan Botvidsson skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of IFK Kik booed when Julias Rascals Apeldoorn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathijs Stroobos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, IFK Kik's goal looked a bit too open when Govert Kool came free, but Håkan Botvidsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sixten Lund to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's zone, Fritz Ugla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taco Zwartkruis came out of the goal and Fritz Ugla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 53rd minute Sixten Lund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taco Zwartkruis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Govert Kool could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Håkan Botvidsson however easily saved by the left post. In the 58th match minute, IFK Kik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Axelsson to maneuver through the defense. Mathijs Stroobos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sixten Lund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Taco Zwartkruis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Håkan Botvidsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Govert Kool in the 69th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goal looked a bit too open when Alf Svartengren came free, but Taco Zwartkruis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gert Warneke kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. A hard shot 79 in the game by Govert Kool from a close distance when the talented Håkan Botvidsson managed to make a qualified save. IFK Kik's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roelof van Kampen in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Håkan Botvidsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Håkan Botvidsson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Govert Kool showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 85 minute of play. Taco Zwartkruis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sixten Lund in the 89th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Govert Kool got free with Håkan Botvidsson in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 92 played minutes IFK Kik got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Vallman.
