The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, XV de Indaial's goal looked a bit too open when Basiel Van de Weijer came free, but Marco Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th minute, Michel Nilis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. XV de Indaial's Eliézer Neves shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 7th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dimitri Huijbreghts but with some difficulty. Alfons van Haghten charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfons van Haghten the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Esquirla FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Severino Borges scored to the left of an out of position Dimitri Huijbreghts, making the score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice moves Lino Paraense could shoot a difficult shot in the 14th minute, which Dimitri Huijbreghts however easily saved by the left post. In the 14th match minute, Esquirla FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Claeys to maneuver through the defense. Basiel Van de Weijer took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Perez. Marco Perez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basiel Van de Weijer in the 23rd minute of play forced XV de Indaial's goalkeeper Marco Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basiel Van de Weijer succeeded in the game's 27th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. XV de Indaial's Marco Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jo Rosbach in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, XV de Indaial's Eliézer Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dimitri Huijbreghts narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mario Claeys during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mario Claeys hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute Jo Rosbach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Claeys in the 46th minute of play forced XV de Indaial's goalkeeper Marco Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.
Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Basiel Van de Weijer in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Perez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adelino Silva's late challenge caught a Esquirla FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adelino Silva helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd match minute, XV de Indaial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adelino Silva to maneuver through the defense. Mario Claeys fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Perez having to interfere. Jo Rosbach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marco Perez came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Esquirla FC's Basiel Van de Weijer. But to his dismay, Basiel Van de Weijer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Basiel Van de Weijer charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Basiel Van de Weijer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Esquirla FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Basiel Van de Weijer hit a great ball. XV de Indaial's Marco Perez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save XV de Indaial from getting a goal against them. If Mario Claeys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jo Rosbach in the 77th minute of play forced XV de Indaial's goalkeeper Marco Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the game, Esquirla FC's Basiel Van de Weijer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marco Perez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. XV de Indaial's Marco Perez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save XV de Indaial from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Esquirla FC booed when XV de Indaial was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelino Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. The XV de Indaial fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Esquirla FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
