After 4 minutes, Sebastiaan Hofland mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SCs StarS and the Exército Português players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sebastiaan Hofland hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Almeida got free with Jan Hendrik Kregel in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 11 minutes into the match, Cris Ronaldo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jan Hendrik Kregel, 1-0. In the 15th match minute, Exército Português was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Lages to maneuver through the defense. Cris Ronaldo kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd match minute, SCs StarS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donny Dongen to maneuver through the defense. Cris Ronaldo's late challenge caught a SCs StarS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cris Ronaldo helped the player get up and apologised. Cris Ronaldo hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Jan Hendrik Kregel made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Ivo Saldanha sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to SCs StarS getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Wilfred Deuring hit a great ball. With a little luck, SCs StarS's Jan Hendrik Kregel got control of the ball when Cris Ronaldo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jan Hendrik Kregel was a little too slow when Kevin Lages got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 2-0. When Ivo Saldanha fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Exército Português's protests and gave Ivo Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes Exército Português got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Saldanha. Isidro Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donny Dongen in the 41st minute of the match. In the 46thth minute of the game Donny Dongen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Exército Português's Isidro Alves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. SCs StarS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Donny Dongen in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Cris Ronaldo made the kick off in the second half. When Donny Dongen came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the SCs StarS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donny Dongen couldn't finish the play. Pieter-Jan Wehkamp kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th minute Ivo Saldanha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Hendrik Kregel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th match minute, Exército Português was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Miranda to maneuver through the defense. Cris Ronaldo scored 3-1 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jan Hendrik Kregel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 67 minutes into the match, SCs StarS's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Saldanha came free, but Jan Hendrik Kregel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Donny Dongen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute Cris Ronaldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Hendrik Kregel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olof Krol hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Jan Hendrik Kregel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cris Ronaldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Donny Dongen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Exército Português's goalkeeper Isidro Alves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pieter-Jan Wehkamp. Jan Hendrik Kregel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cris Ronaldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After 88 played minutes Exército Português got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Lages. Kevin Lages scored 4-1 in the 98th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jan Hendrik Kregel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Exército Português walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
