LauerArmy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C. A. Atlanta the free kick. After 31 played minutes LauerArmy got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Mazza. In the 39th minute, Besart Toto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. C. A. Atlanta's Arnoldo Kismi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder dos Santos in the 40th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves James Rodriguez could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which Arnoldo Kismi however easily saved by the left post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by James Rodriguez in the 54th minute of play forced C. A. Atlanta's goalkeeper Arnoldo Kismi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan Eli got free with Falcão Cabral in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Eli kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Angelo Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Falcão Cabral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Eli, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute.
