The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Richie Golz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Astor Teofilio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Zeyer in the 8th minute of the match. A collision led to SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Christian Streich hit a great ball. Honorio Pinto charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Honorio Pinto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Werner Geißler came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Werner Geißler couldn't finish the play. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Martin Braun in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Lanus's Gervasio Santiago got a free kick in the 35th minute. When Martin Braun came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Braun couldn't finish the play. Astor Teofilio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruce Pesch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andy Zeyer struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Astor Teofilio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruce Pesch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Club Atletico Lanus's Astor Teofilio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heimko Schober in the 51st minute of play. In the 58th minute, Heimko Schober made a precise shot to the right of Astor Teofilio. Club Atletico Lanus's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Astor Teofilio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heimko Schober in the 62nd minute of play. Martin Braun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Astor Teofilio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Richie Golz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacobo Olivar in the 67th minute of the match. Geronimo Abascal's late challenge caught a SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geronimo Abascal helped the player get up and apologised. After 71 played minutes Club Atletico Lanus got a freekick which was hit by Geronimo Abascal. Martin Braun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Club Atletico Lanus getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Gabriel Veronica hit a great ball. Astor Teofilio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carsten Schaub, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Carsten Schaub took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Astor Teofilio. Astor Teofilio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Christian Streich kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Honorio Pinto got free with Richie Golz in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Richie Golz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Honorio Pinto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 82 minute of play. Richie Golz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amadeo Cebo in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacobo Olivar in the 93rd minute of play forced SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Richie Golz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Werner Geißler in the 95th minute of play forced Club Atletico Lanus's goalkeeper Astor Teofilio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. had won after a very even match.
