When Falcão Orange fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's protests and gave Falcão Orange a yellow card for diving instead. Falcão Orange hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Albertino Fontão made in the 28th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Toni Bastos immediately put the ball in play. After a rather tough play, Set Fire's Albertino Fontão got a free kick in the 31st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Daniel Dziura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Set Fire's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Dziura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chiquinho Guerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felíx Nascimento's late challenge caught a Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felíx Nascimento helped the player get up and apologised. Dito Rezende came free in the 44th minute and tried to tip the ball over Delmiro Rosalio, but to the joy of Set Fire's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. Chiquinho Guerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Dziura in the 46th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Armando Orange to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tozé Novais during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Daniel Dziura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chiquinho Guerra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Daniel Dziura had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chiquinho Guerra. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Dziura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 82nd minute Set Fire were awarded a corner. Rogério Pedrosa went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Rogério Pedrosa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Chiquinho Guerra did a great save. 84 minutes into the match, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Dziura came free, but Chiquinho Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th match minute, Set Fire was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tozé Novais to maneuver through the defense. Paulo Cunha's late challenge caught a Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Cunha helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ booed when Set Fire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 94 minutes, Hélio Cunha mouthed his way into the referee's book.
